Re-Defining Religious Impression

Interior Design

Nowadays, people's life pressure is gradually increasing, but there is no place for them to release pressure and obtain peace of mind. Based on the troubles and needs of high-pressure depressed people in Hong Kong, the project explores buildings that can relieve people's anxiety from the perspective of religious rituals to calm people's emotions. The project is mainly focused on the method of religion relieving people's stress, rather than religion itself. The whole building consists of three parts: a prayer room, a performing arts hall, and a lounge. These three spaces are transitional connected through the corridor and give spiritual comfort, spiritual resonance, and physical and mental rest. It will relieve people's anxiety from three dimensions: body, mind, and soul. There are two visiting routes set up in the building for religious and non-religious tourists. I also abstracted the form, color, and decoration of religious buildings. Therefore, visitors will not feel the special atmosphere after entering the building.
